Advertising has certainly come a long way. Up until the 1980s, 1990s, advertising was like the wild west: anything goes. Racism and sexism were frequently addressed in a derogatory manner and women in particular were targeted. We went on a trip through the past and dug up 12 incredibly sexist ads that portray women (and in a few cases, men) in a negative light to showcase just how far the world of advertising has come.
